The more skilled in any moment I can be at facilitating the lesson, the more the students are able to persevere. I think that, when students are naturally curious and interested in something, they keep persevering. They want the lesson to keep going because it's fun and it's interesting. But that's within my power — to create that experience or drop that ball.
I don't think it's natural that kids just aren't interested. They're not interested when we are not handing them something that's interesting and acceptable.
