Clip 13/20: Multiplying and Factoring Polynomial Expressions Lesson Part 2G
Overview
Melissa Nix calls the group back together to see if they can apply the strategy used just beforehand to find the area of the carnival attraction “Four Wheel Fun.” She asks students to return to their pairs and continue deepening their thinking.
Melissa reminds students of when they used algebra tiles, asking them what shape they ended up with from multiplying an x and a y. She asks students to visually represent their thinking and explain it.
