Clip 14/20: Multiplying and Factoring Polynomial Expressions Lesson Part 2H
Overview
As she closes the lesson, Melissa Nix asks her eighth-grade students to share why the dimensions of one of the rectangles are more challenging to determine. Students share out and identify that using inverse operations can help them.
Melissa distributes an exit ticket to students and tells them that they will continue this work the following day.

When I come into a classroom, or I cover a class, or I model a lesson, the kids always seem pretty responsive and happy. They're like, "Oh, right on. Thanks. That made sense to me,” or “I appreciate it." I'll ask them for feedback. Sometimes, I've done an exit ticket just to provide me feedback as a teacher: “On your three-by-five cards today, I want you to give me feedback. Did you like it? What did you learn in the lesson, and then, How did I do?”
